Granny's Shoo-Fly Pie

  1. I pre-made pie shell Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Mix flour, brown sugar and butter until forms a crumb topping.
  3. Place 12 of the crumb topping aside to be used later.
  4. To the remaining crumb mixture add the egg.
  5. In separate bowl mix together molasses and boiling water.
  6. Add slowly to batter and mix until completely combined.
  7. Before putting mix into pie shell, mix baking soda with the 2 tablespoons of hot water.
  8. Quickly add to batter and mix. Pour into unbaked pie shell.
  9. Sprinkle with remaining topping.
  10. Bake 45 minutes.
