Red Velvet Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Dough Directions

  1. Soften butter and egg to room temperature (about 1 hour)
  2. In large bowl combine
    • flour
    • cocoa powder
    • baking soda
    • salt
  3. In mixer beat butter on high until creamy smooth
  4. Mix in brown sugar
  5. Mix in sugar
  6. Beat in egg
  7. Beat in milk
  8. Beat in vanilla extract
  9. Mix in food coloring
  10. With mixer off pour combined dry ingredients into web mixture
  11. Mix on low until you have a very soft dough
  12. Optional: Add more food coloring for deeper red
  13. Gentle mixing chocolate chips
  14. Cover dough tightly with plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour

Baking Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper
  3. Create about 1.5 tbls balls and place on baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 9-10 minutes.  Warning: Do not over bake or they will turn very hard!!!!
