Seafood Stock

for chowder

-2 qts water

-shells from 1 lb large shrimp (or crab claws)

-2 cups chopped onion (or 1 large onion)

-3 carrots, chopped

-3 stalks of celery, chopped

-2 garlic cloves, minced (or sprinkled granulated garlic)

-1/2 cup white wine

-2 TBSP salt

-1 1/2 tsp pepper

-10 sprigs frsh thyme, includeing the stems

-Old Bay

Place all ingredients in a crockpot for high for 6 hours.  Strain through sieve adding back some onion and celery for soup.  Add some butter to soup.
